111 ships are waiting for the port of Great Odesa
After loading, the ship exports 3.3 million tons of cargo from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi.
Currently, 93% of the products of Ukrainian farmers are exported through the ports of Great Odesa and the Danube. This is reported by the Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine.
Thus, since August last year, more than 30 million tons of agricultural products were exported through the sea corridor and the Danube River. This is more than 90% of the total agricultural exports of our country.
For almost 7 months of operation of the maritime corridor, 854 ships exported 26 million tons of cargo from the ports of Great Odesa to 42 countries, of which more than 18 million tons were products of Ukrainian farmers.
“The volume of exports through the Ukrainian corridor almost reached the military level of exports from the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa and Chornomorsk. In December, 6.8 million tons were exported by sea, in January – 6.7 million tons. Even though February is the shortest month of the year, we still hope to keep the export rate no lower than in previous months,” said Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
He also added that Ukraine is preparing to increase agricultural exports through the Danube bypassing the border with Poland. UDS is already preparing barge caravans that can transport more than 2,000 trucks per month.
Currently, the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi are waiting for another 111 ships, which after loading will export 3.3 million tons of cargo.
As previously reported by USM, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has offered three logistics routes for barge caravans bypassing the border with Poland to key motor carriers.
