350 tons of undeclared diesel fuel found on ship in Izmail port


The captain of a Romanian tanker intended to hide diesel fuel from customs control and illegally import it into Ukraine.

This was reported by the State Customs Service.

As noted by the department, upon arrival at the Izmail Commercial Sea Port, documents for 2,150 tons of fuel materials were submitted for customs clearance.

However, during a commission inspection of the vessel, another package of documents was discovered, according to which 2,500 tons of fuel were imported from Romania to Ukraine.

“This amount of diesel fuel was confirmed by measurements conducted at the initiative of the Odessa Customs Service by a certified surveyor,” the customs service noted.

Following the discovery, a report was sent to the Territorial Department of the BEB in the Odessa region about an illegal act containing elements of a crime under Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.USM previously reported that the Izmail Port will pay over UAH 5 million for the repair of the tugboat.
