6 million tons of grain were exported from Odesa region through the sea corridor

Since the start of the Ukrainian sea corridor, 6 million tons of grain have been exported from the ports of Odesa region.

During the operation of the sea corridor, 6 million tons of grain were sent from the sea ports of Odesa. This was stated by Oleh Kiper, the head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

“Today, not only grain is exported. 2 million tons of other groups of goods were exported through the new corridor. 6 million tons of grain were exported,” he said.

According to Kiper, when the new corridor started work, it turned out that part of the grain for export was not accounted for.

“We saw that part of the grain is not accounted for. It goes according to the documents, but unscrupulous exporters create fictitious one-day companies, export, then close the company, the foreign exchange earnings are not returned, and taxes are not paid,” noted the head of Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Subsequently, Regional Military Administration developed and implemented a “white” export mechanism. The corresponding order was published on August 18.
