75 Polish companies are suspected of fraud with Ukrainian grain

The Polish Prosecutor’s Office found out that at least 75 companies brought thousands of tons of Ukrainian grain to Poland, hiding its origin and destination.

At least 75 companies imported Ukrainian grain to Poland as technical grain. And immediately after the grain was imported, it was sold for flour, Rzeczpospolitą reports .

Goods were bought by middlemen directly at the border and sold in Poland as Polish.

“Companies registered in Poland are under investigation. There are no Ukrainian companies among them. The suspects in the investigation are mostly citizens of Poland, but there are also citizens of Ukraine and citizens of Estonia,” commented the representative of the prosecutor’s office, Dorota Sokolovska-Mach.

The Polish prosecutor’s office has opened criminal proceedings against the offending companies, 17 people have already received suspicions.

As USM previously wrote, at the beginning of July, the Polish side stopped allowing Ukrainian trucks to enter and leave Poland.
