The UDS fleet maintenance base has mastered a new type of repair

The fleet maintenance base of “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” expands the types of repair work performed by the company’s own forces.

Recently, work on the creation of a modern repair hub with unified management began in the fourth bay, the UDS press service reported. One of the directions of modernization is the purchase of equipment, the involvement of specialists and the expansion of the range of works.

“Independence from external contractors means promptness, quality guarantee, significantly more favorable prices and the possibility to provide work (and salary) of our own specialists,” the UDS noted.

In particular, the BTOF began to independently clean and paint tanks for storing drinking water supplies.

“Even last year, they tried to attract a contractor to perform the work. But our technical department was able to organize its own painting area with professional personnel who have the necessary permits and equipment,” the UDS noted.

At present, work on cleaning and painting (two layers) of tanks of two vessels has already been completed at BTOF. The relevant sanitary certificates will be issued soon.
