Since the beginning of the year, the Kilia plant has completely repaired seven barges

The Kili Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, which is a structural division of the UDS, carried out major repairs of seven barges with full hull painting from the beginning of 2023.
In this way, the company repaired and painted barges SLG-009, SLG-007, C-406, C-408. Barges C-445, SlG-008 are still in process. Each of the barges underwent a full repair cycle, which takes an average of 45 days.
As the UDS press service noted, thanks to this repair:
• the life of the barge without lifting to the slip increases,
• downtime is reduced,
• the risk of emergency repairs decreases,
• the amount of work and materials is reduced during further major repairs.
“All cleaning and painting work is performed by a specially formed team of 14 specialists. The brigade is equipped with all the necessary equipment, two sandblasting and two painting machines were additionally purchased last year,” the UDS noted.
