Poland proposes to ban the EU import of agricultural products from the Russian Federation
Poland will demand the inclusion of a ban on the import of Russian agricultural products to Europe in the eleventh package of EU sanctions.
“We believe that sanctions against Russian agricultural products should be implemented immediately, if only because of the problems associated with the import of Ukrainian products to the EU,” said Andrzej Sados, Poland’s permanent representative to the EU.
As “European Pravda” writes, Sados explained that there are no problems with a shortage of products in Europe – on the contrary, there is a surplus of them.
“We are now solving the problem with the significantly increased import of agricultural products from Ukraine,” he added.
We would like to remind you that the European Commission has never proposed to the EU countries to impose sanctions on food products from the Russian Federation, explaining it as a threat to global food security.
