Russia wants to create a container connection with Iran

The Russians have begun building container ships for a transport corridor to Iran, The Maritime Executive reports. Thus, the terrorist country hopes to increase the volume of trade that it has lost due to sanctions. The “Corridor of Dictators” will run along the Caspian Sea and connect with Iran’s rail and road systems.
The new vessels will have a length of about 141 meters and a width of 15 meters. The expected payload will be up to 9,200 tons. In total, the Russian Federation plans to build 21 container ships for trade with Iran.
