The new traffic system on the approaches to the ports of Great Odesa: what is known

The State Hydrography has completed the implementation of a new traffic distribution system at the approaches to the ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdennyi.
On behalf of the Shipping Administration, a set of measures was implemented to correct marine navigation charts and manuals for shipping. We are talking about changes to the traffic distribution system (TDR) on the approaches to the ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdennyi, the State Hydrographic Office writes.
“To ensure the implementation of the IMO decision, 10 marine navigation charts were developed and reissued for the water area of the northwestern part of the Black Sea. A modified traffic distribution system was applied to them. Also, information on proofreading of manuals for shipmasters was prepared and delivered to shipmasters,” the agency reported.
The new system meets the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
As previously reported by USM, in November 2022, the IMO approved Ukraine’s proposal for changes to the existing traffic distribution systems to the ports of Greater Odessa.
