The Faroe Islands have restricted Russian access to their ports

Denmark’s autonomous Faroe Islands have restricted Russia’s access to their ports in the North Atlantic.

Only fishing vessels engaged in fishing exclusively in accordance with a bilateral agreement between the Faroe Islands and Russia will be able to enter ports in the Faroe Islands, AFP reports.

The activity of Russian fishing vessels in the port will be limited to crew changes, bunkering, provisioning, landing and transshipment.

Maintenance will be prohibited, and the purchase of goods will be limited.

Previously, USM reported that Greenland refused to extend the 2023 fishing agreement with Russia. At the same time, another autonomous territory of Denmark — the Faroe Islands — extended the validity of a similar agreement with the Russian Federation.
