UZ did not put a single grain truck up for auction in June

Since the beginning of June, Ukrzaliznytsia has not auctioned any lots for transportation in its grain trucks.

For 10 days in June, UZ did not put up any lots for transportation in its own grain trucks at electronic auctions in the Prozorro.Prodazhi system, Rail.insider reports.

According to analysts of the publication, there is almost no demand for semi-trailers. UZ sold only 1 out of 10 lots for a route shipment (53 wagons) at a price that is the threshold of the minimum cost (now it is 203 UAH/day without VAT).

Previously, USM reported that in May “Ukrzaliznytsia” transported 1.836 million tons of grain cargo, which is 33% less than a month earlier.

In general, UZ exported 1.147 million tons of grain in May, transported 683 thousand tons domestically. The average daily load was 44,000 tons.

Two factors influenced the reduction of transportation: the first is Russia’s blocking of the Grain Agreement, which affected the delivery of goods by rail to ports. The second is the restriction of exports through the corridors of solidarity by European countries, which led to the reduction of transshipment of goods through the western borders of Ukraine by half.
