Port Izmail plans to increase the volume of cargo handling
The Izmail Seaport Council supported the project to expand the company’s capacities.
The Council of the Izmail Sea Port has initiated the construction of multimodal terminals, reports the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The terminals will allow transshipment of general, bulk and bulk cargoes.
“This will allow the volume of cargo processing to increase to 900,000 tons per year,” USPA added.
On the Facebook page of SE “IZM MTP” they added that in 2022 the sea port of Izmail (all operators – in particular, and SE “IZM MTP”) reached a record annual activity rate during the years of Ukraine’s independence.
We are talking about 8.892 million tons of cargo (218% of the annual total of 2021 and 231% of the implementation of the plan).
The indicators of 2023 will be significantly higher: as a result of five months, the port of Izmail handled 7.6418 million tons of cargo and 4178 TEU, which is 303% of the planned indicators.
As of June 22, the volume of cargo processing reached the mark of 9 million tons.
As previously reported by USM, Izmail Port received a ship of record length.
Certificate. As of 2021, SE “IZM MTP” had 24 moorings with a total length of 2,618.6 m. The capabilities of the berths of SE “IZM MTP” allowed to receive and place for cargo operations vessels with a draft of up to 7 meters, a length of up to 150 meters, a width of up to 30 meters, with a deadweight of up to 6,000 tons.
