Russian gas production fell by 19.3%
In May, natural gas production in the Russian Federation was 19.3% less than in the same month of 2022.
According to Rosstat data, Russia produced 39.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas in May. This indicator is 11.0% less than in April and 19.3% less than production for the same period last year. This is reported by Reuters.
In general, natural gas production reached 233 billion cubic meters in January-May, which is 15.3% less than last year.
At the same time, the volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production increased slightly. So, in May, production increased by 4.2%, compared to April – up to 2.9 million tons. Despite this, in general, LNG production has decreased by 3.8% year-on-year since the beginning of 2023, to 13.7 million tons.
