Russia has been blocking the work of the Grain Agreement for a week

The Russian Federation has been blocking the registration of vessels as part of the “grain agreement” since June 26.

The aggressor country continues to disrupt the supply of food to world markets. Thus, Russia has completely stopped the registration of new ships entering Ukrainian ports within the framework of the Grain initiative. This was reported by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Currently, 29 ships with 1.4 million tons of Ukrainian food destined for Asian and African countries are blocked in Turkish waters. In general, only 2 million tons of agricultural products were exported from the ports of Greater Odessa in June.

Another 1 million tons of food are loaded onto the last 13 vessels registered in the Initiative. If the registration of ships is not restored, the Grain Agreement will be completely stopped.

In total, during the 11 months of operation of the Grain Agreement, 45 countries received 32.5 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products. According to UN data, thanks to the Black Sea Initiative, it was possible to reduce world food prices by 22%. At the same time, the world did not receive another 25 million tons of agricultural products due to the sabotage of the Agreement by the Russian side.
