Bribes from agricultural exporters: the SBI exposed an official of the State Production and Consumer Service

In Mykolaiv Region, the SBI exposed an official of the State Production and Consumer Service who demanded money from exporters of agricultural products.

In particular, the swindler demanded money from exporters for speeding up the processing of veterinary documents for the export of agricultural products to the EU, the press service of the SBI notes.

Bureau employees detained the official on July 3 while receiving another bribe.

“The official knew very well that with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the importance of the export of agricultural products to the EU for the state increased significantly. And that’s why he decided to take advantage of the situation and “expeditiously” set up a system of earning on the issuance of export permits. All those who wish to obtain a veterinary and sanitary certificate and other permits without hindrance and quickly had to pay the official $300,” added the SBI.

According to the SBI, the possible amount of the official’s illegal benefit could amount to about 500,000 hryvnias every month. In more than a year, the person involved could become richer by tens of thousands of dollars. The investigation will determine the exact amount.
