State Department: the Russian Federation continues to receive record profits from food exports
Russia continues to export food and receive record profits for it. Such a statement was made by the spokesman of the US State Department, Matthew Miller.
“Russia has suspended participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative. It was the latest blow to global food supplies. A few hours later, the Kremlin launched missiles and attack drones at Ukraine’s grain hub, the port of Odesa,” said the representative of the State Department.
After that, according to him, Putin’s spokesman threatened the safety of Ukrainian ships that dare to carry food in international waters.
“It is obvious that Russia continues to use food as a weapon of war. This time it will affect not only the residents of Ukraine, but also the global food supply and prices,” Miller emphasized.
He emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, food prices have increased by 22%, and in the last day they have jumped even more. Thus, Russia continues to receive record profits from grain exports, the representative of the US State Department added.
As Ukrinform writes, Miller also noted that, despite the Kremlin’s lies, the UN, together with the EU, Britain and the USA, made efforts so that Russia could export its food. He reminded that the G7 countries did not impose any sanctions on Russian exports of products and fertilizers.
