Port “Nika-Tera” lost UAH 1 billion due to Russian shelling
The specialized sea port “Nika-Tera” in Mykolaiv suffered UAH 1 billion in losses due to shelling from Russia.
Damages of the port “Nika-Tera” amounted to 1 billion hryvnias. According to the head of corporate communications of Group DF Oleg Arestarkhov, these are only preliminary estimates, and the real losses may be much higher, reports Forbes.
One of the largest attacks on the port was carried out by the Russians on June 4 last year. Then 3 warehouses with a total area of 13,349 square meters were completely destroyed. m and the total storage capacity of grain, oil crops and products of their processing — 105 thousand tons.
As a result of the shelling, 35,000 tons of sunflower meal were completely destroyed in the warehouses. In addition, other property of the port was also damaged: grain silos, hoppers, grain drying complex, railway infrastructure, locomotives, handling equipment, vehicles, electric substations, gas and electricity supply systems, as well as administrative buildings, workshops and farm buildings.
Currently, work on the restoration of the port is not being carried out, because Mykolaiv is constantly shelled, and the port is completely closed to ships.
During the year of the Great War, the company managed to ship more than 237,000 tons of grain and 27,000 tons of corn from the port’s warehouses. These goods were exported within the limits of the Grain Agreement through the ports of Great Odesa. Part of the cargo was sent through the Danube ports and land transit points.
Currently, “Nika-Tera” operates in the mode of a “dry port” – the port began to accumulate and transship liquid fertilizers of Ukrainian production for the farmers of the south.
The company is developing a project to restore the port, which will be implemented after the end of the war.
