The Russians are closing shipping in the Kerch Strait
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has significantly restricted passage through the Kerch Strait. In particular, the invaders completely prohibited the passage of small vessels.
Due to fears of “terrorist attacks”, the Russians partially closed shipping in the Kerch Strait. Thus, the Russian Federation prohibited the passage of all small vessels and watercraft through the strait. This is stated in the statement of the operative headquarters of the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation.
Recreational, sailing vessels, inflatable watercraft, jet skis, windsurfers, subboards and their analogues fall under the restrictions. The ban does not apply only to ships, boats and vessels of the Russian Navy.
The Russians also banned anchoring, fishing, bottom soil sampling, and other “suspicious” activities in the region. At the same time, the transit traffic of civilian vessels through the Kerch-Yenikal canal is allowed only during daylight hours.
USM recently reported that the Russians are installing boom fences around the Crimean Bridge, which could block shipping near the illegal structure.
The occupiers are also actively checking civilian ships heading to the Azov ports for the presence of explosives
