World wheat prices are falling

At the last auction, wheat prices fell to 240 euros per ton.

In August, world wheat prices fell to 240 euros per ton. This became known based on the results of trading on July 31 at the Euronext exchange, writes “APK-Inform”. For comparison, before this quotation, wheat was 247.75 euros per ton.

At the same time, wheat futures at the SWOT trade on July 31 fell by $14.2 to $244.6 per ton.

In particular, the drop in the supply of grain on the export markets of the Russian Federation contributed to the decrease in prices. This increased competition in the key sales areas of European wheat – the markets of Algeria and Morocco.

Also, the decrease in prices is due to the expectation of improved weather conditions and an increase in the grain harvest in the US Midwest.
