A cargo ship carrying new FPB 98 MKI patrol boats for the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine entered the Black Sea.
On Monday, August 21, the ship passed through the Bosphorus Strait, “Militarnyi”reports .
The vessel is currently on its way to the port of Constanta in Romania. It is not yet known how the boats will be handed over to the DPSU Maritime Guard.
We will remind you that recently at the facilities of the French shipbuilding company OCEA in Le Sable d’Alon there were at least 6 boats made for Ukraine, with ship numbers BG-201, BG-202, BG-203, BG-204, BG-205 and BG -207.
The BG-201 board was launched on December 9, 2021. It is used to train Ukrainian crews. The second and third boats were launched already in February and May last year.
In 2019, Ukraine and France signed a framework agreement, which provides for the lending of 136.5 million euros by the French government and European banks for the construction of boats.
In total, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine ordered 20 such boats, of which 5 were previously planned to be built at the facilities of “Nibulon”.
FPB 98 MK.I is a light maneuvering boat designed by OCEA. Length — 32 meters, speed — up to 30 knots (60 km/h). Sailing range — 1200 nautical miles (about 200 km). Due to the fact that the boat is made of aluminum alloy, it has a small draft and is able to move in shallow water.
