China bought large batches of corn from Ukraine

Chinese importers have bought large batches of fodder corn in Ukraine over the past few weeks.

As Latifundist writes, Reuters reports on China’s actions with reference to traders in Asia and Europe.

Traders were unable to give exact volumes, but some said they were in the hundreds of thousands of tonnes. A source in the Ukrainian government also confirmed corn sales to China.

“Importers in China have bought about 10-12 Panamax loads of Ukrainian corn for shipment in November/December,” said a Singapore-based trader at an international grain company.
