The accident happened on November 19. Due to the storm, the cargo ship split in half near the Turkish port of Eregli, reports Anadolu

After reporting the accident, a coast guard boat and the fire department were sent to the scene.

13 crew members managed to evacuate, there are no casualties among them.

According to the governor of Zonguldak, Osman Hadjibektasoglu, part of the vessel was washed ashore. He also reported that the rescued sailors are doing well.

In the district center of Karadeniz Eregli, the streets are flooded due to the storm and rain. The storm brought down trees that created obstacles on the roads, and some damaged cars. Local authorities appealed to citizens not to go outside.
