Ukraine’s share in world grain trade is 5%


The share of Ukraine in the world grain trade during the war is 5%.

Ukraine currently also has a share of 0.3% in the world flour market and 1.2% in other products, said Dmytro Prykhodko, Chief Economist of the UN FAO Investment Center.

The FAO also predicts that the world production of corn will grow, approximately up to 1.2 billion tons per year. The next driver crop is wheat. The global crop growth forecast is up to 772 million tons per year.

In the next 10 years, consumption will grow annually:

• corn by 148 million tons, i.e. by 12%,

• wheat by 29 million tons, or by approximately 10%,

• the rest of grain crops — approximately 10%.
