Slovakia threatens to block the border with Ukraine again
Slovak carriers threaten to block the checkpoint on the border with Ukraine again.
UNAS (Union of Motor Carriers of Slovakia) threatens to block the border with Ukraine if Ukrainian truckers are not given back their transportation permits.
“UNAS remains on alert, and if there is no other alternative to resolve the situation, UNAS is ready to completely block the crossing of Vyshne-Niemetske/Uzhgorod in both directions,” the union said in a statement on Facebook.
The head of UNAS also thanked the Minister of Transport of Slovakia Jozef Raž for raising the issue of permits for Ukrainian carriers. This took place at the Council of EU Transport Ministers in Brussels on December 4, where, in particular, the impact of the cancellation of the permit system for Ukraine on road transport in Slovakia was discussed.
On Thursday, December 7, a meeting of the Slovak Minister of Transport with representatives of UNAS is scheduled to take place.
