Ukraine will be able to export up to 60 million tons of this year’s harvest
Ukraine will be able to ship up to 6 million tons of grain to world markets every month.
Ukraine will be able to export up to 50 million tons of grain and oil crops of the 2023 harvest. The state will also ship about 10 million tons of oil and meal. This was reported by UGA President Mykola Gorbachev.
“We planned to transport approximately 5 million tons per month. However, this did not happen in the first 4 months of the season. We were not able to increase shipments through the Danube ports, through which 3.5-3.7 million tons passed every month. With the start of the “grain corridor” in the ports of Great Odesa, the potential is visible. It is possible to send 3-4 million tons per month only through the ports of Great Odesa,” explained Gorbachev.
In total, about 6 million tons of grain can be exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor and through the western borders every month. This was already done in November. At the same time, it will produce another 10 million tons of processed products, including oil and meal, during the current fiscal year.
“We will sell most of the produced products. For us, this is more than 50% of the country’s currency revenue, which stabilizes the hryvnia. I think that the state does not have much of a choice: either the crop will rot, or it is better to sell it. Of course, it is better to sell,” the expert emphasized.
