The Russians are preparing their fleet for war against NATO.
Russia is directing valuable naval resources to areas outside of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Thus, the aggressor country can create threats to the alliance and allies in many regions, reports “Ukrinform” with reference to the Institute for the Study of War.
Earlier, the Kremlin stated that Russia is a Pacific naval power and seeks an equal defense partnership with China.
It is likely that Russia intends to strengthen its naval capabilities in the Arctic, taking into account Finland’s recent participation in NATO and Sweden’s upcoming entry into the alliance.
“It is unclear whether Russian naval manufacturers will be able to produce strategic naval ships in the scale and quality desired by the Kremlin in the coming years,” the report says.
