During the year, 23 new terminals were opened in ports on the Danube


In 2023, 23 new terminals and 20 cargo transshipment points were opened in the Danube ports.

Yuriy Lytvyn , the head of State Enterprise “USPA”, said this during the final meeting of the Ministry of Reconstruction.

Thus, in 11 months of this year, the ports of Ukraine handled 52.8 million tons of cargo (against 45.6 million tons in 2022):

• export – 47.9 million tons,

• imported – 4.6 million tons.

Regarding the work of the Ukrainian maritime corridor. As of November 30, the ports of Great Odesa processed 6.4 million tons.

During the year of operation, the ports of the Danube cluster opened 23 new terminals and 20 new cargo transshipment points, and also increased the number of pilots from 14 to 78 people.

In particular, dispatching and operational processes were improved, including conducting vessels at night, and conducting vessels using the leading method.

“Priorities for 2024: increase in cargo turnover of sea ports, development of the Danube port cluster as the main alternative export sea route, restoration of the port infrastructure, which suffered significant damage as a result of enemy attacks. Also, the implementation of investment projects and public-private partnership projects,” emphasized Yuriy Lytvyn, the head of SE “USPA”.
