Ukraine and Great Britain discussed the future coalition for the development of maritime capabilities

The delegation of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the announcement ceremony of the opening of the coalition for the development of maritime capabilities of Ukraine.

It will be recalled that the coalition was created at the initiative of Great Britain and aims to increase the capabilities of Ukraine at sea in order to ensure the safety of civil shipping.

The members of the coalition will provide Ukraine with ships, equipment, train the boat crew of the sea and river flotillas of the Navy, marines, anti-aircraft defense, mine countermeasures units, etc.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Defense of Great Britain Grant Shapps, the Minister of Defense of Norway Bjorn Arild Gram, the Commander of the US Naval Command in Europe Admiral Stuart Benjamin Munsch, the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key and representatives of many European countries.

“The main tasks of the coalition are to help Ukraine win a victory at sea, ensure the safety of civilian shipping and eliminate mine danger, because now the Black Sea is the most dangerous in terms of mine safety in Europe,” said Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
