The invaders took 5 million tons of grain from the occupied territories
During the past year, the Russians exported at least 4.8 million tons of stolen grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
In 2023, the enemy collected and took away from the temporarily occupied territories about 4.8 million tons of grain. This was reported in the Center of National Resistance.
“Just like 100 years ago, Russia continues to plunder captured lands and take away everything it can get its hands on. Echelons with grain, which the enemy collected from Ukrainian land, are coming from TOT,” the message reads.
It is noted that on temporarily occupied lands, all agrarians are obliged to hand over “amount” to the occupiers. So, in order to legalize theft, the Russians “buy” grain from farmers at a price many times lower than the market price. Then the invaders resell the grain and take the difference.
As reported, grain export figures have increased significantly in the Black Sea ports of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Thus, in the fall of 2023, the number of vessels transporting stolen grain increased in the ports of Kerch and Feodosia. Also, the number of grain cargoes on the roads of Kerch, which is located near the seaport, has increased significantly.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing NASA satellite data, stated that the invaders stole at least 8 million tons of agricultural products. In particular, in 2023, 6.4 million tons of wheat and almost 1.5 million tons of sunflower seeds were collected in the occupied territories.
