Solskyi: Ukrainian agricultural exports suffered due to Houthi attacks
Against the background of the shipping crisis in the Red Sea, the volume of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products decreased significantly.
In January, the export volume of Ukrainian agricultural products decreased significantly. This was announced by the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solskyi, on the air of the telethon.
The minister noted that part of Ukrainian exports goes through the Red Sea to Asia and East Africa. However, due to the shelling of civilian ships by the Yemeni Houthis, traffic by sea slowed down significantly.
Also, to a lesser extent, the decrease in Ukrainian exports was influenced by the New Year holidays. Over the past week, Ukraine has already begun to increase the volume of agricultural exports.
Earlier, USM wrote that Houthi attacks in the Red Sea threaten the world’s grain supply.
