The USA imposed sanctions against 18 ships carrying Rosneft: the list
The United States introduced the first sanctions in 2024 against companies and ships that help Russia transport oil.
The sanctions apply to 18 ships of the Emirati company, which are involved in the supply of Russian oil at inflated prices, according to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department (OFAC).
“Today, OFAC is taking its first oil price cap enforcement action of 2024 against a shipping company linked to price cap violations,” the statement said.
18 vessels of Hennesea Holdings Limited (Hennesea) were placed under US restrictions. Its central office is located in the United Arab Emirates, and the company itself has already been included in the sanctions list. Hennesea is the ultimate owner of vessels that carried Russian oil at a price higher than $60/barrel.
Shortly before the G7 set a price limit on Russian oil, Hennesea acquired old tankers that then repeatedly called at Russian ports.
OFAC identified the following vessels as belonging to Hennesea:
1. ARISTO (IMO 9327413)
2. HAI II (IMO 9259599)
