The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company sent one of its vessels to an Austrian shipyard for repairs.

The first vessel, “Captain Antipov”, was sent to Linz, to the ÖSWAG shipyard, the UDS reported.

Austrian engineers will carry out a major modernization of the self-propelled gun with the replacement of engines.

The ship was prepared for the voyage for several months: the hull was completely cleaned and painted, the propeller-rudder complex, pumps, mechanisms and much more were restored.

After returning from Austria, the self-propelled machine will immediately start working. Modern economical engines and control system will significantly reduce fuel and repair costs.

This is the first modernization of a self-propelled vessel in the recent history of the UDS. It was at ÖSWAG that this series of ships was built 40 years ago. The ÖSWAG design office developed the project. ÖSWAG provides a guarantee.

As previously reported by USM, in connection with the blocking of the western border, the UDS proposed to redirect the goods transported to EU countries by trucks to river transport.
