The DPRK resumed the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation by sea

After the September meeting between dictators Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin, North Korea sent about 6,700 containers of ammunition to Russia.

North Korea likely resumed shipping weapons to Russia by sea on March 10, after a hiatus since mid-February. This is reported by the analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their latest report.

According to satellite images of the NK News portal, a Russian cargo ship similar to the Lady R, which was already used to transport ammunition in October 2023 and February this year, arrived at the North Korean port of Rason. Containers with weapons intended for the Russian army are probably being loaded onto the ship.

The last time a Russian cargo ship docked in Rason was on February 12.

At the end of February, South Korea’s Ministry of Defense estimated that since September of last year, North Korea had sent to Russia about 6,700 containers of ammunition used in the war with Ukraine. This is approximately 3 million 152 mm artillery shells or 500 thousand 122 mm caliber shells.

Before that, the US and South Korea promised to oppose the supply of North Korean weapons to Russia.

As USM wrote, in the Syrian port of Tartus, a parking lot of Russian ships was discovered.
