The border with Poland may be unblocked within a few weeks
The Polish government hopes that the parties will find a compromise solution to the issue of Ukrainian transit grain.
The issue of blocking the border with Ukraine by Polish farmers can be resolved within a few weeks. This was stated by the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Seimas, Pavel Koval, “Ukrinform” writes.
The official expressed hope that the governments of Poland and Ukraine will reach a compromise solution in negotiations with the protesters.
“As for blockades and farmers’ protests, they are happening all over Europe today. I don’t understand why everyone associates them with Ukraine. They do not primarily concern Ukraine or any Ukrainian issues. They are simply about the fact that grain prices have fallen in Europe, and farmers are demanding compensation, and the governments of individual countries are trying to help farmers and protect certain sectors of agricultural production,” Koval emphasized.
USM recently wrote that Poland and Ukraine plan to develop a mechanism for licensing grain exports.
