The crew of the arrested yacht continues to receive salaries from Medvedchuk

The crew of Viktor Medvedchuk’s arrested yacht Royal Romance is still on board and receiving wages from the ship owner.

The yacht accommodates 14 guests and 22 crew members. The Croatian team, which worked here even before the arrest of the vessel, is always on board, according to the TSN report.

All this time, Medvedchuk pays the crew’s salary.

For some time, journalists and representatives of ARMA and the Prosecutor General’s Office were refused entry to the yacht.

At some point, the judge asked for a ladder to be brought so that the delegation could climb onto the yacht. At this, the captain announced that he would throw the ladder into the sea. The judge then warned the captain that he would be arrested for 20 days for refusing to let the Ukrainian working group onto the yacht. In the end, officials and journalists were allowed on the ship.

We will remind, Medvedchuk’s yacht will be auctioned for at least 130 million euros.

In February of this year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the sale of the seized yacht. The Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) was entrusted with the implementation.

At the end of January 2024, the District Court of the city of Split (Croatia) decided to transfer the “Royal Romance” yacht to Ukraine. It is known that the ship requires annual costs of $15-20 million.

Previously, USM reported that in order to realize the arrested yacht of Viktor Medvedchuk, who is suspected of treason, it was necessary to make changes to the legislation.
