The Russians attacked the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhia
In the morning, Russian troops carried out missile strikes on numerous objects in Ukraine, including the energy sector.
Unfortunately, Ukraine’s largest hydroelectric power plant – DniproHPP in Zaporizhzhia – has also been hit, Ukrhydroenergo reported.
Currently, there is damage to both stations and the dam. In Dnipro HPP-2 there is a direct hit of two missiles in the mountings. Broken crane beams.
Both stations are currently closed. There are no victims among DniproHPP employees.
The station is taking all measures to raise the gates and allow the water to flow downstream of the Dnipro.
There is a fire at the station. Emergency services and energy workers are working on the spot, overcoming the consequences of numerous airstrikes.
There is no threat of a breakthrough. The situation at the dam of the station is under control.
