The Russian Federation sent two ships into the Red Sea after exercises with Iran

The Russian detachment of ships from the missile cruiser “Varyag” and the frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov” passed through the Strait of Aden and entered the Red Sea.

As Defense Express writes, Russia is unlikely to miss the opportunity, at least, to follow the actions of NATO ships, as well as to pass this information to the Houthis.

Yes, the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea are currently the arena of hostilities, where the Yemeni Houthis are trying to attack civilian ships. And this sea route accounts for 14% of all sea traffic in the world.

“In addition to this, the stable connection and cooperation along the lines of the Russian Federation – Iran – the Yemeni Khustites does not require additional explanation. Especially against the background of the fact that the Houthis promised not to attack Russian ships, but Chinese ships along with them. And before entering the Red Sea, the “Varyag” and “Marshal Shaposhnikov” conducted joint exercises with Iran and China,” the article says.

It is also assumed that a detachment of Russian ships will then head to the Mediterranean Sea to Syria, where the Russian naval base of Tartus is located.

As previously reported by USM, Houthi drones attacked an American warship. All four drones were shot down by the US military.
