Sunken barges: the Navy told how the Russians are trying to protect the fleet

The entrance to the bay, where the Russian ships are located, is blocked by sunken barges.

“This practice is not new, they did the same around the so-called Crimean bridge. Boom fences are hung on the barge. All this is used as such elements of protective structures,” said the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain 3rd rank Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of the telethon.

According to him, this practice of the Russians in sinking something could be seen 10 years ago, when they seized Crimea, when they sank their own ships to block the Ukrainian ones in the bay.

“As we can see, now they have actually closed in the Novorossiysk base station, closed the entrance to the harbor, put up a barricade and are just sitting,” the spokesman emphasized.

As previously reported by USM, the invaders are massively redeploying ships from the territory of the occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk due to the threat from Ukrainian naval drones.
