The first ship with containers since the beginning of the war entered the port of Odesa region
The Panamanian-flagged ship “T Mare” entered one of the ports of Great Odesa on the afternoon of April 3.
This is the first vessel with containers that passed through the Ukrainian sea corridor since the beginning of the full-scale war, “Dumska” writes.
On the same day, the ship left the Black Sea port on its way back to Constanta.
Note that “T Mare” is not classified as a container ship, but as a general cargo vessel.
That is, currently we are talking about the performance of feeder transportation of containers to a foreign hub, where they will be loaded onto ocean container carriers of world container lines.
Until now, container transportation was carried out to a limited extent through the Danube ports, but from today it will increase significantly.
It will be recalled that in March, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yurii Vaskov announced that all five container terminals are ready to process containers, but they will resume work in stages.
The traffic was supposed to start with the feeder ships, and container lines would follow them in the absence of incidents.
