The latest Russian attack on the ports of Odesa caused damage of UAH 309 million
As a result of the Russian attack on the port infrastructure of Odesa on April 19, the damage caused to the environment alone is estimated at over UAH 300 million.
As the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District recalled, on April 19, Russia attacked the port infrastructure of the Odesa region with ballistic missiles.
“As a result of the shelling, production equipment and tanks with 10.5 thousand tons of oil burned, which caused more than 36 thousand tons of carbon dioxide to enter the atmosphere,” ecologists noted.
According to the inspectors’ estimates, the total amount of damage to the environment alone is almost UAH 309 million.
USM previously reported that Russian strikes destroyed and damaged 215 port infrastructure facilities since the beginning of the war.
