Australia will hand over speedboats for the Armed Forces
The Australian government announced the purchase of military-class Sentinel 830R boats as part of military aid to Ukraine.
As part of the April package of military aid worth $100 million, Australia will transfer military-class Sentinel 830R boats to Ukraine. “Militarnyi” writes about it.
The Sentinel 830R is a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB). They are manufactured by Sentinel Boats. They are suitable for performing tasks both in river reservoirs and in sea water areas.
Speedboats require minimal maintenance. This ensures greater operational readiness for the Ukrainian military.
Currently, the number of watercraft planned for transfer is unknown. However, they plan to deliver the boats to Ukraine in the coming months.
In addition to the boats, the package of military aid from Australia will include the order of a large number of MANPADS worth 50 million. The Australian government will also transfer air-to-ground munitions. About 30 million dollars from the aid package will be directed to drones within the “drone coalition”.
As USM wrote, earlier Estonia transferred patrol boats to Ukraine.
