The Grain from Ukraine program can be extended to other types of food

The volume of shipments of humanitarian products to the countries of Africa and Asia from the Ukrainian manufacturer is half a billion dollars.

The Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative can be extended to other types of food products. This was stated by Mikela Carucci, a specialist in food systems and sustainability of the World Food Campain in Ukraine, UCAB reports.

“We are considering the possibility of promoting the export of not only grain within the Grain from Ukraine program, but also opening other directions for the supply of oil, canned meat and beans to countries that need it. Regarding these products, either the registration of suppliers is still ongoing, or the trial periods and the completion of testing are being completed,” Carucci said.

During the full-scale war, WFP significantly expanded cooperation with Ukrainian agro-processors. The volume of shipments of humanitarian products from Ukraine reached half a billion dollars. In the future, the organization plans to strengthen partnerships with the private and public sectors and strengthen value chains.
