British intelligence: potential for recovery of Ukraine’s economy is high

About 1,600 transits of ships and the export of 45 million tons of cargo were ensured by the work of the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
British intelligence highly assesses the potential for recovery of the Ukrainian economy in 2024 thanks to significant volumes of exports through the shipping corridor in the Black Sea. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
The throughput capacity of the Black Sea ports reached the highest monthly export volume since February 24, 2022. Thus, in April 2024, Ukraine exported a record volume of grain and oilseed crops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion – 6.6 million tons. Of these, about 5.2 million tons of grain and oil crops were sent from the ports of Odesa.
In general, since the launch of the sea corridor in August last year, Ukrainian ports have provided about 1,600 transits of ships and the export of 45 million tons of cargo. Of them, more than 30 million tons were agricultural products. The rest of the cargo includes mainly iron ore and steel.
British intelligence also emphasized that supplies from Ukraine are critical to global food security. From July 2023 to June 2024, grain exports from Ukraine will account for about 9.7% of world supplies.
