Japan imposed sanctions against companies transporting weapons from North Korea to Russia

Sanctions include freezing the assets of companies operating in shipping and military supplies.

The Japanese government announced the introduction of sanctions against nine Russian and two Cypriot companies, as well as against one citizen of the Russian Federation. Kyodo News writes about it.

These companies supplied weapons from North Korea to Russia to support the aggressive war against Ukraine. These actions are a violation of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.

“As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, it is extremely important to take measures in coordination with the international community,” said the chief spokesman of the Japanese government, Hayashi Yoshimasa.
