High Anti-Corruption Court transferred the trawler “Bukhta Sokolovskaya” to the state

High Anti-Corruption Court satisfied another lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on the application of sanctions and seized the large freezer fishing trawler “Bukhta Sokolovskaya” from state income.

The higher anti-corruption court seized the fishing trawler “Bukhta Sokolovskaya” from state income, Deputy Minister of Justice Inna Bohatyh reported.

According to the SBU, the cost of the vessel can be about UAH 1 billion. The trawler is located in the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The trawler was indirectly (through the company) owned by Oleksandr Hryhorovych Verkhovsky, a Russian businessman who, between 2012 and 2017, was a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, where he represented the legislative (representative) body of state power of the Sakhalin Region.

As a member of the Council of the Federation of Federal Assemblies of the Russian Federation, in 2014 Verkhovsky voted for the introduction of the Russian Armed Forces into the territory of Ukraine. In early 2023, he declared his support for a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
