Corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” is being built significantly ahead of schedule.
The “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” corvette, which is being built in Turkey for the Ukrainian Navy, is 70% ready. This was stated by the commander of the ship, Volodymyr Uglinskyi, “Militarnyi” reports.
According to the captain, the “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” corvette is very modern, and its capabilities significantly exceed the capabilities of the “Hetman Sahaydachnyi” frigate.
The future flagship of the Armed Forces Navy is being built ahead of schedule. Equipment and weapons are currently being installed on the ship.
The corvette will be able to hit targets at a distance of 180 to 240 kilometers. Neptune, Harpoon, NSM or Atmaca missiles are among the possible options for anti-ship weapons.
The day before, the newest Ukrainian flagship left the Turkish shipyard RMK Marine for the first sea trials.
