A new grain terminal is operational on the Romanian-Ukrainian border
The recently built terminal, which will improve connections with the port of Constanţa, has begun work on the Romanian-Ukrainian border.
The Romanian private railway freight company Grampet Group has opened a recently built grain transshipment terminal near the border with Ukraine, Railfreight writes.
The terminal is located in the city of Dornesti. It is known that the terminal uses equipment similar to the river and sea ports of Romania to facilitate transshipment.
At the same time, the terminal will improve connections with the port of Constanta.
As a reminder, the new terminal was built at the beginning of April 2024. The annual grain transit capacity reaches 3 million tons.
The terminal is equipped with a wagon loading station (128 m long) and an unloading station (120 m long), which allow simultaneous processing of 8 wagons.
The cost of the infrastructure is estimated at 10 million euros.
