Ships of the Russian Federation are hiding behind foreign civilian vessels

Russian ships in the Sea of Azov are covered by foreign civilian vessels, which creates potential international problems in the event of their damage.

Despite the official closure of the Kerch Strait, there are foreign civilian vessels in the Sea of Azov. This was stated by the spokesman of the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, UNIAN writes.

Thus, several amphibious ships and three missile boats of the Russian fleet moved from Novorossiysk to the Sea of Azov for exercises. Russians use foreign ships as a shield. Accidental damage to them can lead to complications in the international arena.

“They (note: Russian ships) went to Azov, but it is shallow. There are not many ways to travel. But now they move in a pile with civilian vessels. Another question is what these civilians are doing there, considering that the Kerch Strait is officially closed by Ukraine,” said Pletenchuk.

However, there are not only foreign ships in the Sea of Azov, but also Russian ones. The latter take part in looting the occupied territories of southern Ukraine, using the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk.
