Denmark wants to oppose the export of Russian oil subject to sanctions

Denmark has started negotiations with other countries to stop the transportation of sanctioned Russian oil by tankers through the Baltic Sea.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Lücke Rasmussen, in an interview with the publication Information and Danwatch.

According to him, Denmark has assembled a group of countries to consider the possibility of further measures against the so-called “shadow fleet”.

“It is important that all new measures can be implemented in practice and be legally sustainable,” the minister noted.

Currently, it is not disclosed what the new measures will entail. It is known that Denmark conducts a “confidential dialogue” with other Baltic Sea countries and the EU.

USM previously reported that Finland is calling for increased resources to eliminate oil spills in the Baltic Sea caused by vessels of the Russian “shadow fleet”.
