Yermak: Ukraine sent more than 220,000 tons of agricultural products within Grain From Ukraine


Since the launch of the Grain From Ukraine initiative, Ukraine has sent more than 220,000 tons of agricultural products to countries in Africa and Asia.

Since the fall of 2022, Ukraine has shipped 221.41 thousand tons of agricultural products, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said.

Among them are 195,000 tons of wheat, 22,265,000 tons of wheat flour, and 4,141,000 tons of split peas. Agricultural products were sent to 10 countries in Africa and Asia. It helped ensure food security for 8 million people.

Part of the Ukrainian food is purchased by the states participating in the project.

In the first half of 2024, Ukraine has already delivered shipments of wheat flour to Sudan, wheat to Nigeria, split peas to Mauritania, Djibouti, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently, part of the humanitarian cargo is headed to Malawi and other recipient countries.

Ukraine plans to expand the program to other regions of the world. Possible deliveries to Haiti, Chad, Cameroon, Tanzania, Djibouti and other countries are already being discussed.

Previously, USM reported that Ukraine is exporting sunflower oil for the first time within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
